The PVI examination tests basic vascular knowledge and skills essential to physicians practicing vascular surgery and vascular medicine. The RPVI examination assess Applicants' understanding of vascular anatomy and hemodynamics as well as ultrasound result interpretation.
The Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation® (RPVI®) certification is awarded by APCA, the Alliance for Certification & Advancement, a new Council created to meet the specific needs of physicians. To earn your RPVI certification you must pass the PVI examination. If you do not pass, you must wait until the next administration to retake the RPVI examination.

RPVI Examination Resources
There are a number of vascular ultrasound review resources available to Applicants through APCA, including practice examinations and a content outline. Our practice examinations simulate the computer interface you'll see in the actual testing center. While it is not mandatory, we recommend taking a practice examination to familiarize yourself with the format and type of questions asked.
