Earn Registered in Musculoskeletal® (RMSK®) Sonography Certification

The MSK sonography examination tests the knowledge and skills required in making a reliable diagnosis and performing invasive procedures in musculoskeletal-related conditions. By earning the Registered in Musculoskeletal (RMSK) sonography certification, physicians and advanced care providers gain a critical edge in promoting themselves as preeminent practitioners.

The examination is four hours and contains 200 multiple-choice questions. In order to earn the RMSK certification, the MSK examination must be taken and passed.

Taking a practice test or two is a great way to prepare for your actual examination. We offer Musculoskeletal sonography (MSK) Practice Test that simulates the computer interface used in the actual test center environment. The MSK practice test review is comprised of 30 sample questions and is 30 minutes long.

Accreditation Announcement

The RMSK certification program is now accredited by ANSI under the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 17024 Standard. The accreditation of the MSK examination was approved by ANSI on February 12, 2019.

Prerequisites

New requirement as of 2019: A completed third-party attestation form indicating the performance and/or authorized diagnosis of a minimum of 150 musculoskeletal ultrasound stud­ies within the preceding 36 months of application. Please save this form and upload it along with any other required documentation when you apply for the MSK examination. ​

To apply for the MSK examination and earn the RMSK certification, you must meet the eligibility requirements of the MSK Prerequisite.​
