The CBNC Examination application window is now closed.

The CBNC certification program is now offered through the Alliance of Physician Certification & Advancement. While you will apply for the examination through the MY APCA portal, you will find all information pertaining to applying for the CBNC examination on CBNC.org​.

The CBNC certification program validates expertise and knowledge in the field of Nuclear Cardiology.  Medical licensure assures minimal competency to diagnose and treat & certification in Nuclear Cardiology indicates mastery of a defined body of knowledge. Certification is a recognized credential of excellence and demonstrates your commitment to providing quality healthcare.

CBNCTM Certification Eligibility ​​& Examination

To earn and maintain certification in Nuclear Cardiology, you must meet the eligibility requirements and pass the examination.  Please consult the full description of eligibility requirements by visiting the CBNC C​ertification​ or Re​cer​​tific​a​t​​​i​on sites. Please note that there are different Certification requirements for United States trained applicants ​and Non-United States trained applicants​.​​

Please note: The Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology (CBNC) certification is currently valid for 10 years. CBNC is committed to the global standards of physician excellence in patient care and is actively evaluating continued competence models. For additional information, please click here.

Application Dates and Examination Fees

IMPORTANT NOTE: Applications must be submitted by 11:59 pm Eastern Time on the date listed above to receive that fee. No exceptions. Special Accommodations: Applicants who have requested testing (“special”) accommodations in their application and are required to submit additional documentation in support of their request must submit all such support documents for receipt by October 23, 2026. After October 23, 2026, incomplete accommodation requests will be denied.
