Annual Renewal Process

Annual renewal fees help APCA fulfill our mission of recognizing physicians’ enduring commitment to the highest quality patient care through rigorous assessments and continual learning.

We are dedicated to providing our Certificants and the global medical imaging community with the highest and most comprehensive level of professional services and support.

As of June 2016, physicians are now serviced via the secure MY APCA portal for renewals of both physician certifications (RMSK, RPVI, RPVI-China) and sonographer-level certifications (RDMS, RDCS, RVT, RMSKS).

The renewal deadline for all physician and sonographer-level certifications is December 31, 2024​. Certificants who earn their first certification during December 2024 have until February 28, 2025 to renew. Annual Renewal Fees* are:

$150 for RPVI, RMSK

$95 for RDMS, RDCS, RMSKS and RVT (sonographer-level certifications offered by our companion council, ARDMS)

*If you hold both physician-level certifications (RPVI, RMSK, RPVI-China) and sonographer-level certifications (RDMS, RDCS, RVT, RMSKS), you pay the higher of the two renewal fees.

Renew Online by December 31, 2024! 
You can quickly and easily renew your certification online using your Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Diners Club or JCB by logging in to MY APCA​. It’s FAST, EASY and SECURE!

​Please note that we do not accept mailed payments including bill pay checks that are processed through your bank. Bill pay checks are similar to personal checks, as your bank issues a check that is sent through the mail.

Certificant renewal fees, application fees, dues, contributions or gifts to Inteleos are not deductible as a charitable contribution for federal income tax purposes. These payments may be deductible as ordinary and necessary business expenses under Section 162 of the Internal Revenue Code. Inteleos has been organized under Section 501(c)(6) of the IRC. The Inteleos​ tax identification number is 51-0184277. You may wish to consult your tax advisor for further assistance.

Once your Certification(s) is renewed, you can expect:

  1. An updated identification (ID) card will be sent to you for 2024. Please allow for up to four weeks to receive your 2025 ID card. To receive your ID card by December 31, 2024, payment must be received by November 27, 2024. Please note:  If you hold both APCA and ARDMS certifications, you will receive two ID cards. An APCA ID card will be issued for physician RPVI and  RMSK certifications. An ARDMS card will be issued for sonographer level RDMS, RDCS, and RVT certifications.
  2. Your name is listed in the APCA Directory of Certificants through the renewal year.

If you miss the renewal  deadline, your certification(s) may be revoked. To be reinstated, please follow the Reinstatement procedure.
