Volunteering with APCA is a meaningful and fulfilling way to promote global standards of excellence in healthcare and patient safety while working collaboratively with physician colleagues from a variety of specialties who share your passion for the use of diagnostic medical imaging. Hear it for yourself, and find out why doctors are volunteering for APCA!
As an APCA volunteer, you will be an integral and valued member of our prestigious exam-development team. Our volunteers provide the medical understanding and clinical expertise that ensure our credentials reflect the required knowledge and competencies for providing safe and high-quality patient care. Collegiality, interdisciplinary learning, and a great staff are just some of the benefits physicians cite when asked what they enjoy most about volunteering with us.
A variety of volunteer opportunities allows you to choose the one that best suits your skills, expertise, interest, and available time.
- Develop Exams
Have a direct impact on the competencies needed to become credentialed. Write questions and submit images and videos. Become eligible to review questions, create assessment forms, and set the passing standards. Working on exam development is the first step toward moving into governance positions within our organizational structure.
- Communicate about APCA
Educate and encourage colleagues in your field by promoting the value of an APCA credential. We will provide you with slides and data to incorporate into your presentations at conferences and meetings.
- Create Innovative New Assessments
Be a pioneer in the development of an innovative assessment that leverages current technology to determine the competency of physicians around the world who use portable ultrasonography (Point-of-Care) at a patient’s bedside for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
- Collaborate on Sonographer (ARDMS) Credentialing Exams
The American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), our companion organization for sonographers welcomes physicians to help develop exams leading to the RDMS, RDCS, RVT and RMSKS credentials.
